OPERATION “HELENA” LEG 3

Background:

The SAVAF Fighter Bomber Sqn are on deployment at St Helena.

Intel has just been received of a spy ship that is operating to the south west of St Helena Island. It is known that besides spying with some serious technological gadgets, the ship may also be armed with surface to surface and surface to air missiles, and appears to be intent on doing some harm in either St Helena, or Ascension.

Further intel would indicate that the ship is masquerading as a medium cargo/container vessel. The vessel has been reported to be in the vicinity of 1912W, and steaming in a northerly direction.

The vessel is also known to be operative ONLY during the hours of darkness.

No Authority has been able to catch the vessel to date, and both the St Helena and Ascension Authorities are very keen to put a permanent stop to this vessel’s actions.........

As usual, the SAVAF are more than willing to assist.

Objective:

Scramble from St Helena and find the vessel in question. Perform all actions as necessary if found, then recover to St Helena

Orders:

Scramble from the St Helena FACP (FHSH) and route hdg 268*, Angels 32, M0.95 to position 1811W.
Begin an ops decent at 1811W to no higher than 1000ft ASML, and turn left hdg 245* to position 1912W.
