The SAVAF Fighter Bomber Sqn are still on deployment at Ascencion Island.

It is nearly time to wrap the operation up. The grand final exercise is to perform tactical operational manoeuvres to determine the readiness status of both the Ascencion and St Helena Bases.

The exercise will involve a mock attack on St Helena out of Ascension.

Fighter bombers will scramble from Ascension, and attempt to perform an attack on St Helena. Interceptors will scramble from St Helena and prevent the fighter bombers from completing their task.


Fighter bombers will scramble from Ascension and attempt to “destroy” the St Helena base. Interceptors will scramble from St Helena and prevent the bombers from completing the task.


Fighter bomber Sqn (Callsign VENOM) to scramble out of Ascension (FHAW), and rout to St Helena (FHSH).
AWACS defence surveillance (callsign MAGIC) to scramble from St Helena and maintain station north west of St Helena.
Interceptor Sqn (callsign RAPTOR) to scramble from St Helena (FHSH) on instruction from Magic.
On completion of the exercise, all aircraft to recover to Sat Helena (FHSH).
